YMCA Swansea Statement 290925

29th September 2025

YMCA Swansea is aware of a recent issue in relation to a member of staff employed by YMCA Porthcawl.

YMCA Swansea is an entirely separate entity operating within the framework of the YMCA federation model. Each YMCA organisation functions separately from one another, legally independent- with its own governance structure, policies, financial models and operational procedures.

While we respect and collaborate with other YMCA entities, including those based in Wales and across the UK, it is crucial to emphasise that YMCA Swansea has no formal links with YMCA Porthcawl and will not provide commentary on operations pertaining to any other YMCA.

Maintaining a focus on our local community, YMCA Swansea remains dedicated to delivering impactful Youth Work projects that align with our values. As an organisation we are committed to transparency and accuracy, and we would welcome the opportunity to discuss matters directly related to our work.

We would like to reassure all users of our services, along with our local community, that all of our staff are subject to the highest possible levels of DBS and our practicing Youth Workers are registered with EWC. All of this evidenced as part of our recent glowing Estyn inspection.
