YMCA Swansea: ESTYN Report

Following changes in Welsh Government, Youth Work organisations are now being inspected by ESTYN. Starting in 2024, a small number of organisations have been formally inspected to ensure that a high standard of youth work is being delivered and that any Welsh Government or Local Authority funding is being used appropriately. To date, just a handful of organisations have been inspected, mostly Local Authority Youth Services.

YMCA Swansea was inspected just before Easter over 4 days. As in schools, the inspection was communicated with little notice.

We are the first Youth Work charity of our kind to be inspected as part of this work- and we are immensely proud to share the report here.
