Siarad

Siarad.

We all need to talk. Talk about our feelings, our thoughts, our dreams and our fears. It’s human nature to share, to learn and to explore our emotions.

But what if you couldn’t. What if your circumstances prevented you? Perhaps the very thing you needed to talk about was the barrier? Or perhaps those involved were so close to you that you struggled to share it with others. Maybe those who could or should be there, were not.

In some cases, perhaps someone was even taking advantage of this situation.

Now imagine you were a Young Person; trying to navigate that period of your life too.

Siarad (a Welsh word meaning talk).

YMCA Swansea employs qualified Youth Workers across a number of specialist fields to be there to listen. To support. To offer a safe space to talk.

Conversations with our team are non judgemental and led by those who need to speak- at a pace that is right for those involved.

With your support we can begin that conversation today, together.

We can support

  • Young People in Swansea struggling with their identity;
  • Young People in Swansea putting their lives on hold to care for others;
  • Young People in Swansea still overcoming the impact of the Covid Pandemic to their social development
  • Young People in Swansea exposed to real world dangers in an inner city
  • Young People in Swansea leaving care at 16
  • Young People in Swansea with no-one to turn to.

Siarad is our campaign to to help the next generation be the best that they can be by breaking down those barriers.

A £5 donation to YMCA Swansea could pay for an extra conversation with a qualified Youth Worker that could literally change a life forever. Could you be that person who makes that difference?
